Gear Ratio Setup:

This screen allows you to measure the gear ratio of the vehicle when the actual gear ratio is not known.  You simply bring the vehicle up until the dyno takes hold (approximately the engine RPM shown in the Control Speed window) - once the dyno is holding the vehicle, use the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard to adjust the RPM in the Engine RPM Window until it matches the actual engine RPM as displayed on the vehicle's tachometer.  This method's accuracy is limited to the accuracy of your vehicle RPM measuring device.  A factory tachometer is usually subject to some error, a high quality aftermarket tachometer is good, a digital tachometer is better, and a unit that reads the engine RPM digitally from the engine computer is the best of all.  Once the numbers match up, click OK and proceed with the rest of the vehicle set up.
