Vehicle Setup Screen:

The Vehicle Setup Screen is where you configure the dyno to match the details of the vehicle being tested.

Vehicle ID - assigns a label to the file and confirms that you are configuring the correct vehicle file.

Wheel Dia - for entering wheel diameter so equivalent ground speed can be calculated for display - not used or necessary for power and torque measurements.

Vehicle - Selects one of three operating modes - Light, Custom (medium), and Heavy.  Determines control characteristics of the hydraulics inside the dyno.

TC Factor - allows user to enter a driveline loss factor (Transmission Correction) to add a percentage of power to the flywheel power graphs.  A factor of 1.0 adds no correction factor, a factor of 1.15 would add a 15% correction factor to the flywheel numbers.  Axle (rear wheel) numbers are not effected by the TC Factor box.

Drive Ratio - this is where you enter the vehicle's final drive ratio.  This ratio must be correct for the gear you are using, so you must take transmission and axle ratios into consideration.  If you do not know the vehicle's gear ratio, you can measure it in the Setup Ratio screen.

Setup Ratio - takes you to a screen to measure the gear ratio of the vehicle (next page).

Gearbox - Selects between manual or automatic transmission modes.  Our automatic transmission mode is coming soon.

Gear - applies a label to the file so you know which gear was being used during testing

Weight - enter vehicle weight for use with tractive effort and acceleration screens.

Control Type - Selects between Step and Ramp operating modes for Autoplot (F1) testing.

Mode - selects between Normal and an optional mode when using the Ramp mode - ask a Dynapack representative for details.

The Autoplot (F1) ramp mode has four parameters that must be set:

Initial Settle Time - determines initial holding time at the beginning of a run

Start RPM - RPM point where the initial hold and start of the run will take place.

Finish RPM - RPM point where the run will finish and hold.

Ramp Time - determines the amount of time and the rate of acceleration between the two RPM points - regardless of throttle position.
